Automatic Winding Seiko Watches
These perpetual motion watches are reliant upon frequent use and wrist motion to generate power. They still need winding manually if not worn, for the reasons given above. A watch is designed for daily use therefore occasional , or half day use may not be enough for it to give its full potential , which is generally between 24-36 hours. I advise a manual wind before wearing first.
Also, be aware, that a brand new automatic watch will need approximately 24 to 48 hours use to 'bed in' ie, give the greases and bearings time to 'mesh', and during this time they may run fast
