Manual Wind Seiko Watches

These are reliant very much on the way we wind ,and need gentle treatment when winding. Slow steady winding is more effective and prevents a sudden heavy stop when fully wound which can cause damage internally as well as to the winding stem and button. Mechanical watches are designed for regular use so try and wind them the same time each day, and if they are worn infrequently every so often. This keeps the oil flowing and the movement more free from seizure or wear. Do not wind your watch on your wrist this causes damage over the long term to the winding stem, and is not recommended. Timekeeping for elderly watches over particularly over 50 years old, would be expected to be between 2- 3 minutes a day, depending on quality of watch.
